Steffes ERU: A Smarter Solution for Flare Gas Capture
Steffes’ Emissions Reduction Unit (ERU) features patented, cutting-edge technology designed to minimize routine flaring in upstream oil and gas operations. This unit features an oil-less compressor that reduces flaring by capturing and compressing flare gas, effective for a variety of well pads.
Developed in partnership with the Energy & Environmental Research Center (EERC) Foundation, the ERU also redirects high-pressure flare gas to allow heavier components to condense into liquid, boosting oil production. The compressed gas is then recycled back into the system, increasing overall throughput.
Equipped with an intuitive control panel, operators can make real-time adjustments to optimize performance right at the well site.

The EERC has secured funding from the North Dakota Industrial Commission Oil and Gas Research Program to deploy 30 units within North Dakota. These units are available on a first come first served basis.
