Steffes Unveils the Emissions Reduction Unit at the Williston Basin Petroleum Conference
Steffes is proud to announce the official launch of its latest oil and gas product innovation, the Emissions Reduction Unit (ERU), at the Williston Basin Petroleum Conference (WBPC) in Bismarck, North Dakota, May 19 to 21, 2026. A pressure management and gas recovery system, the Steffes ERU was developed to control pressure, capture gas, and eliminate flaring.
The ERU draws gas from constrained process points across the facility, from the wellhead to the tank battery. Gas can then be sent directly to sales, recycled into separation equipment or repurposed for fuel gas operation. Using an integrated control system and variable speed operation, it continuously adjusts to changing conditions to maintain stable pressure and flow. This allows the system to operate more efficiently, reducing constraints that impact production.
During WBPC, Steffes will showcase the ERU, providing attendees with an up-close look at the unit and the opportunity to learn about its capabilities firsthand.
Our product management team will be at the show to discuss how the ERU:
- Redirects gas to sales or on-site use
- Converts stranded gas into usable energy
- Minimizes routine flaring and venting
- Supports emissions and compliance objectives
- Improves overall flow efficiency
The Steffes ERU is ready for deployment. Built and field-tested in North Dakota, it was developed for year-round operation and is the ideal solution for demanding oil and gas environments.
August Lorenzen, design engineer at Steffes, will be presenting “From Pilot to Proof: Emissions Reduction Unit Deployment” during the Technical Solutions breakout session at WBPC on May 19 at 1 p.m. in room 101-102. You can also see the ERU up close at the Steffes booth (#412).
